Top Ten Mesmerising Locations That Made Me Go Wow!

I quite like doing top tens. Here are my top ten surreal places I’ve visited. By surreal I mean the feeling of shock and awe. Almost as if you can’t believe the place exists. I’ve taken these pictures myself, if you wish you can see my best photos here: Some of my best photographs

10. Sunrise in Kodaikanal

I’ve seen a lot of sunrises, this is probably one of the best ones. We woke up super early and headed to a great viewpoint with no one else around. We had a picnic whilst watching the sun light up the valleys. An unforgettable view!

9. Burj Khalifa, UAE

The world’s tallest building can only reach 9th in my list but wow is it impressive! The first time I saw the Burj Khalifa was at night and I had just left the mall. I kept looking up and up because it’s so crazy tall! The view from the top isn’t half bad either, truly a great experience.

8. Triund Trek, India

This trek was the first time I saw snow capped mountains from the ground. You only catch a glimpse of the mountains along the journey but as you near the end and go over the ridge you come face to face with the impressive mountain range.

7. Golden Temple, India

Easily the most peaceful place I’ve ever visited. I had already seen many photos and videos of the golden temple, but it is so much better in real life. It was so good I went 3 times!

6. Taj Mahal, India

One of the seven wonders of the world and it is wonderful! As you enter the premises you can see the Taj Mahal square on and it looks unreal. It literally looks like a mirage! Then you can go inside it and you realise it’s not as big as you think it is, but still impressive nonetheless.

5. Northern lights, Iceland

Unless you’ve taken LSD or something similar the sky doesn’t produce weird and crazy effects. In fact if you’ve been to a planetarium its a similar experience. Seeing the northern lights and the shapes it makes, it looks like the sky is dancing! Awesome trippy experience!

4. Riding the Sameong Loop, Thailand

The Sameong loop is situated in northern Thailand next to Chiang Mai. There are some fantastic views around the loop, couple that with riding on a scooter and you get an unforgettable trip! One of my favourite travel days!

3. Manali’s snow capped mountains, India

I arrived in Manali at night time after an 11 hour bus ride. So I pretty much went straight to sleep! When I woke up in the morning I opened my door onto the balcony to see snow capped mountains! Amazing view, in fact the views around Manali were so good I extended my stay from 6 days to 12 days!

2. Hong Islands, Thailand

Thailand beaches are mesmerising! White sands and deep blue ocean, like it’s from the movies or the travel brochures. These islands were so beautiful it felt like I was dreaming. A great day of relaxing and pure fun!

1. Annapurna mountains, Nepal

I have a thing for mountains. Seeing 8km high mountains is pure insanity and so dizzying! I got to experience them up close and wow what amazing sights. I have to keep watching my videos or going through my photos to convince myself I was really there!

Honorable mentions

When I was at 4000m in Nepal I had to wake up very early to start trekking. It was around 5am and still dark outside, I looked up and I could see thousands of stars. I’d never seen so many stars before in my life! I wish I could’ve taken pictures but it was so damn cold.

I quite like tall buildings and the view looking down. When I was in Thailand we visited a rooftop bar in the evening and the views were amazing, would definitely go again!

Finally Abu Dhabi hosts the marvelous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It is beautiful from the inside and from afar. An amazing place which just missed the list, definitely a must visit.
